We are getting data of the environmental impact that the use of the MUVING motosharing service is having in the cities after just over a year of use. In Cádiz, for example, the first city in which the service started in March 2017, 47 tons of CO2 emissions have been saved, reaching 10,000 users, of which 300 approximately use the “yellow motorcycles” dayly.
In the case of Seville, the service started in May 2017, the number of tons of polluting particles not emitted reaches almost a hundred: 99,000 kgs. The total users amount in the Andalusian capital goes to 26,500. In the 11 cities throughout Spain in which we have been operating over the last year, the total of CO2 emissions saved reaches the amazing figure of 650 tons.
Some people say that sometimes the numbers are cold and statistics lack emotion. For Rafael and for me, these numbers are achievements and materialization of what we began to see in 2010 when we set out as a mission to transform the mobility of people and improve their lives through technology. Cleaner air, and more sustainable transport. A common feeling when you start driving a MUVING electric device is the satisfaction of not being contaminated. To be the protagonist of a positive impact in the closest environment. All this, while doing an activity that I have to, a need: moving around the city.
As you know from my last post on this blog, we started our activity in Atlanta, United States, just 3 weeks ago. Above, you can see the statistics of some cities after a year rolling. In the case of the US capital, the data is extraordinary: 2 tons of CO2 emissions savings, 1100 users, 40,000 minutes of use in just 24 days. These data represent the progress of the global change already begun and visualized precisely in the North American cities by Rafael and me almost a decade ago. City by city, ton by ton.
